How To Straighten Your Teeth Discreetly

When you hear the word “orthodontics”, what’s the first thing that springs to mind? For most people it’s traditional metal braces popular with teenagers. While these are very effective at treating most orthodontic problems, and are popular with teens who like to be able to customise their braces with colours, for adults they can be a barrier to seeking treatment.

At Glow Dental we understand that obvious metal braces are not always compatible with busy professional and personal lives. That’s why our skilled orthodontics team are pleased to offer a huge variety of ways to straighten your teeth discreetly – meaning few people will even know you are having treatment. Depending on what your clinical needs are, treatment times can even be as short as six months.

Here are some of the discreet orthodontic options available at our Battersea practice:

Six Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles, as the name suggests, have an average treatment time of just six months. This system of braces is based on traditional orthodontic principles, but works more quickly because it focuses only on the front six to eight teeth – those that are visible when you smile.

These braces comprise tooth-coloured wires and clear brackets, so they are not immediately obvious in your mouth. They are designed to correct cosmetic issues with your smile.

Lingual braces

Lingual braces work in just the same way as conventional braces, using brackets and wires to move your teeth. However, there is one important difference: they are attached to the rear or lingual surface of your teeth, meaning they are not visible in everyday life.

So long as you have healthy teeth, gums and bone, lingual braces can treat even complex orthodontic issues. Just like standard braces, they afford your orthodontist maximum control over the movement of your teeth.

Clear aligners

We offer treatment with a number of clear aligners, including the Inman Aligner and Invisalign. As well as being clear, these aligners benefit from being removable, helping you to maintain excellent oral hygiene during treatment.
