COVID - 19 Issue 6.
It’s been a long 10 weeks since we had to temporarily close the practice due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and I am delighted with today’s government announcement. We will be reopening on 1st June with a view to seeing patients from 8th June.
Whilst this is very good news there are still challenges ahead, with increased regulatory guidelines and PPE shortages we will not be back to ‘business as usual’ immediately.
We will be prioritising appointments based on
- Urgency of needs
- Patients with on-going treatment plans that were not completed prior to lockdown
- Patients who had their appointments cancelled due to the temporary closure
COVID-19 has given us a new way of working and we will be updating you all next week with the new safety measures that have been put in place to protect staff, you as a patient and our wider community. The new safety measures will affect all aspects of your dental care, including how you book and attend for your appointments.
I would just like to take a moment to thank you all for your patience and cooperation during our temporary closure and I look forward to seeing you soon.

COVID - 19 Update 5
We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to Glow Dental and are working hard behind the scenes getting everything ready to ensure we keep you and our staff as safe as possible.
For those patients currently undergoing Invisalign treatment, we have received confirmation from the British Dental Association that unfortunately we are not allowed to post out aligners at this present time. The current dental advice is to remain on your existing aligner and as soon as this changes we will let you know.
In the meantime, do follow us on our socials for up to date advice on how to manage your Invisalign, dental emergencies and much more during the COVID – 19 pandemic.

COVID - 19 Update 4
We hope that you and your family are keeping safe and in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines.
We understand from the Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday that there is to be an easing of the lock down measures. However, we are awaiting further clarity from our governing bodies on what exactly this means moving forward. There may be a period when the way we care for you will be quite different from what we have been used to but we will update you on further on this once our governing bodies have set the guidelines.
We are making plans behind the scenes to reopen as soon as we are allowed. We will continue for the time being to provide advice via email, please send any queries to email@example.com.
For those patients undergoing Invisalign treatment and awaiting new aligners, we are currently seeking advice from our governing bodies to see if this is something we are able to do, given the current restrictions that have been placed upon and we will be in contact with you over the coming weeks.
We hope to see you soon.
COVID - 19 Update – Issue No 3.
I promised to keep you up to date on any future developments and how they may affect your care at Glow Dental.
Since my last email to you England’s Chief Dental Officer issued new updated guidance dated 25th March 2020 which will change the level of care we can provide at this time due to covid19.
The new guidance states all routine, non-urgent dental care including orthodontics should be stopped and deferred until advised otherwise.
We are also unable at this time to provide emergency dental treatment and NHS England is working to set up Local Urgent Care Dental Centres which we can refer you to for urgent treatment if necessary.
In the meantime, we are able to advise remotely and prescribe antibiotics.
I urge any of our patients with a dental emergency to email the practice firstname.lastname@example.org for further advice.
We are happy to provide support as much as we are able to under the circumstances.
As soon as I have more information about these I will let you know.
I hope all of you and your loved ones are keeping safe.
